UK Increased Funding For Sailing

Rio Olympic has just finished and medal takers countries have started their preparation for the next Olympic Games session.


The countries are investing more on sports to make it outperforming incoming event. In the series United Kingdom has announced that it will increase the fund for Olympic and Paralympic 2020. Amount of £345m will be spent on sports persons who are going to take part in Olympic Games and Paralympic Games; the amount will be spent on 31 players.

According to reports the out of £345m fund given for preparation of Olympic and Paralympic Games, £26,231,379 will for sailing Olympic events. For Rio 2016 Olympic Sailing team of UK received the fund of £25,504,055 for preparation. So, there is increased in the fund for 2020 Olympic preparation. Microsofts Paul Allen and his yacht team finds sunken Japanese warship

A Paul Allen, the Microsoft co-founder, led team, has found the sunken Japanese warship called Musashi, which is one of the biggest battleships ever made. According to reports, it was sunk during the 2nd World War off the coast of Philippines, said the billionaire, on Wednesday.

The whole team took Allen’s yacht the M/Y Octopus, depending on the advanced technology of the ship, detailed topographical data and historical records to find out as well as click pictures of the warship in Sibuyan Sea on Sunday, finishing a decades-long mystery regarding its exact location, said a statement on Allen’s website.

United States aircraft sank Musashi on 24th Oct, 1944, killing over one thousand Japanese, or around half crew of the vessel. The statement added that Mr. Allen has been searching for the Musashi for more than 8 years and its discovery would not just serve fill in the narrative of World War Two’s Pacific theater but bring closure to the families of those lost. Two of the preparatory races for 2017 America’s Cup World Series was announced to be held at Portsmouth on Tuesday, 25th November. Following the announcement, Ben Ainslie, regarded as one of the greatest British Sailors has told his fans that they will have an unmatched experience.

The July 2015 and July 2016 America’s Cup World Series events will be held at Portsmouth, which is also a naval base of British Royal Navy. Sir Ben Ainslie has said that holding these two events will greatly benefit Portsmouth financially. Sir Ainslie is aiming at becoming the first British team to win America’s Cup World Series in 2017.
